Meet the Team
Derek and Margaret Pearce head up the team of staff ensuring that at all times we provide a personal and reliable service. Across the business we strive for perfection and professionalism in everything that we do, and we continue to grow as a family run business.
Derek has over 25 years’ experience in all areas of the business and has built these areas up to where they are today. Derek is fully compliant with the latest health and safety and holds a SMSTS qualification.
Derek does the day to day running and organising which gives him a whole heap of knowledge in all areas of the business and is someone who values reliability, honesty and professionalism in everything he does. Derek would much rather be out on site with the rest of the groundwork team than sat in the office, and so this invaluable day to day experience helps him to understand the client’s requirements and work alongside his team to provide an excellent service. It’s not often you will find Derek out of work gear, but on a Sunday afternoon you may find him either tinkering with a machine or catching up with the cricket!
Lee is our Groundwork Foreman and is Derek’s right hand man on the groundwork side of the business.
Lee has been working in the groundwork industry for many years so brings a lot of experience and knowledge which is invaluable to us for when he is managing and helping with decisions for the rest of the team.
He is fully up to date with all his training requirements and always keen to get involved, take responsibility, and help manage projects. Outside of work you’ll most likely find Lee on a football pitch or golf course.
Will is our Farm Manager and has been with us for 6 years. Will had a year out to farm in New Zealand, when he came back he was employed with us as a harvest student for a few months in the summer. Luckily for us Will didn’t end up leaving at the end of summer and has stayed ever since.
He is the font of all knowledge when it comes to machinery and the farm; he has taken on all the arable farm work to free up Derek’s time and has gained a lot of experience. If he is not working out in the field, he will be servicing the machines, fabricating, helping in the grain store, or more recently helping as an extra pair of hands with the groundwork team.
Will has got the cheekiest Jack Russel called Maisie, (who often appears on our social media!) and so when he isn’t at work, you’ll find Will walking her and exploring the countryside.
If you ring the office you’ll probably get Livi, who is our Office Manager. She is the person behind keeping the paperwork in order and everything ticking over.
She comes from an administrative and farming background which is great for the business and has quickly learnt about the different aspects of groundworks too! She oddly enjoys getting ready for an audit and making sure all the paperwork is in place, which works well for Derek when he is busy on site.
Outside of work you’ll find Liv baking something tasty or out walking her dog.
We also couldn’t be without the rest of the team, they all bring something to help keep our values at the forefront of the business
They are all highly skilled and fully trained in what they do, between them all they have an in-depth knowledge of the industry and are always eager to please and do the best they can
