Meet the Team

Derek and Margaret Pearce head up the team of staff ensuring that at all times we provide a personal and reliable service. Across the business we strive for perfection and professionalism in everything that we do, and we continue to grow as a family run business.

OWNER

Derek

Derek has over 25 years’ experience in all areas of the business and has built these areas up to where they are today. Derek is fully compliant with the latest health and safety and holds a SMSTS qualification.

Derek does the day to day running and organising which gives him a whole heap of knowledge in all areas of the business and is someone who values reliability, honesty and professionalism in everything he does. Derek would much rather be out on site with the rest of the groundwork team than sat in the office, and so this invaluable day to day experience helps him to understand the client’s requirements and work alongside his team to provide an excellent service.  It’s not often you will find Derek out of work gear, but on a Sunday afternoon you may find him either tinkering with a machine or catching up with the cricket!

Groundwork Foreman

Lee

Lee is our longest standing Groundworker, he has been working in the groundwork industry for many years so brings a lot of experience and knowledge which is invaluable to us.

He has been with us for a long time, and so is very much part of the team. Lee will turn his hand to most things whether it be fencing, treatment plant installs, being on a machine or taking a driveway project on and managing it.

He is fully up to date with all his training requirements and has recently done his operatives street work course.

Outside of work you’ll most likely find Lee on a football pitch or golf course.

Groundworker

Ben

Ben joined our team 4 years ago and we couldn’t do without him. He came to us from a road construction company. He is a perfectionist in all that he does and takes great care with all jobs. He is definitely someone we know that we can leave to get on with a job and it will be done correctly.

He expressed an interest in the 22T digger and has gained numerous machinery tickets with us and is now one of our highly competent 22T drivers and recently has undertaken his operative street works course.

Outside of work you’ll find Ben on the cricket pitch or doing something outdoors!

Groundworker

Dave

Dave joined the team 5 years ago and has seen so much progression throughout his time with us. He was self employed before, and was doing lots of different things.

Dave works alongside Derek a lot of the time on shed builds. Dave has got very good with roofing and cladding and takes his time and asks questions when he is not 100% sure.

When they aren’t in a cherry picker, Dave is really helpful as another pair of hands and will turn his hand to anything you ask. You can leave Dave to get on with a job and know it is in safe hands.

Dave is a keen card collector and trader and when he isn’t at work he is busy with his cards.

Farm Manager

Will

Will is our Farm Manager and has been with us for 6 years. Will had a year out to farm in New Zealand, when he came back he was employed with us as a harvest student for a few months in the summer. Luckily for us Will didn’t end up leaving at the end of summer and has stayed ever since.

He is the font of all knowledge when it comes to machinery and the farm; he has taken on all the arable farm work to free up Derek’s time and has gained a lot of experience. If he is not working out in the field, he will be servicing the machines, fabricating, helping in the grain store, or more recently helping as an extra pair of hands with the groundwork team.

Will has got the cheekiest Jack Russel called Maisie, (who often appears on our social media!) and so when he isn’t at work, you’ll find Will walking her and exploring the countryside.

Office Manager

Livi

If you ring the office you’ll probably get Livi, who is our Office Manager. She is the person behind keeping the paperwork in order and everything ticking over which works well for Derek when he is busy on site. Liv knows most of the going-on’s within the business whether it is to do with a groundwork job or what is coming in or out of the grain store.

She comes from an administrative and farming background which is great for the business and has quickly learnt about the different aspects of groundworks too!

Alongside Derek, they have learnt to use Trimble Business Centre, so a groundwork construction drawing becomes a good project to make sure it is changed to 3D machine control and right for the team on site.

Outside of work you’ll find Liv pottering in the greenhouse with some seeds or out walking her dog, Purdy; who during the week is our office dog!

We also couldn’t be without the rest of the team, they all bring something to help keep our values at the forefront of the business

They are all highly skilled and fully trained in what they do, between them all they have an in-depth knowledge of the industry and are always eager to please and do the best they can
