New Patio – Domestic Customer in the Village

This customer got in touch with us at the beginning of 2020 to arrange a visit to her garden to see what we could do.

The customer had a vision in mind of what he wanted but needed some costs. Understandable with the covid lockdown rules announced the customer put her garden work back until he thought it was safe to do so. We were more than happy with this and said to let us know when he wanted to proceed.

The customer wanted a few clever design ideas, to make it as attractive as possible, but still leave it a very low-maintenance space. The existing space was some very old patio stones (look tired, dirty and worn) with weeds coming up through the patio and not somewhere that you could comfortably sit.

The garden has had a complete refurb and is now a really nice area for the client and exactly how he wanted it. We removed the existing patio stones, a small tree and some shrubs. There was a strip of gravel at the back of the garden which merged into a small grass / weed area. We replaced the gravel with top soil and laid some new grass seed to make the area bigger. The customer had decided what type of slabs he wanted for the patio, originally his plan was to keep the patio slabs all one size. We showed him some pictures of another patio we had recently laid which had mixed sized slabs which he preferred. The grass rectangle at the back of the garden was at a slightly higher level to the patio, we edged this off with a lovely oak sleeper to finish it off, which we think makes it.

The before and after photos really make the space look different and you wouldn’t think it was the same area!
